PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a friction element through a reduction of a quantity of heat generated by a slip of the friction element, by detecting a line pressure oil temperature and changing a speed change time target value according to the detected oil temperature. CONSTITUTION:A line pressure regulating means 77 is controlled so that an automatic transmission speed change time detected by means of a speed change time detecting means 80 may become a target value. Also, a line pressure oil temperature is detected by means of an oil temperature detecting means 48, and the target value of the speed change time is changed, that is, the target value is changed to a shorter time under a condition of the oil temperature being high, by means of a target value changing means 82 according to the detected oil temperature. The line pressure is corrected by means of a line pressure correcting means 81 so that this changed target speed change time may be realized. Thus, a quantity of heat generated by a slip of a friction element in an automatic transmission is reduced, and the improvement of durabil ity and reliability is realized. |
