Use of known welding anti-spatter agent as coolant and lubricant - in machining steel enables high cutting speeds to be maintained safely and economically

Additional use is claimed for a known anti-stick agent contg. water-soluble fats and motive fuels as its main constituents and whose normal use is the prevention of spatter during gas-shielded and electrode manual welding. This additional use is a coolant and lubricant in the machining, e.g., drilling, of (non)-alloy and cast steels. ADVANTAGE - Anti-stick agent is applied to the tool and/or the workpiece. E.g., when sprayed on to the drill before drilling a 10mm hole in steel 50mm thick, it enables drilling to be carried out without interruption or difficulty at higher than the usual cutting speeds without the drill becoming excessively hot. Improved economy results.
