A device for bending steel rods into concrete reinforcing irons with a device (3) for feeding rods into a conveyor (8) with which a bundle of rods may be introduced laterally between bending members (11, 12), in which the conveyor has at least one controllably operable set of jaws (10) pivotable from a first position, in which it takes up several rods from the feed device and clamps them, into a second position in which it introduces the rods into the space between the bending members.
