PURPOSE: To cut off ignition through transmission shift by a method wherein a means to cut off ignition in response to displacement from a drive state of a transmission to a neutral state is arranged on a control device with the means coupled to an ignition device, in a single lever control device for an outboard motor. CONSTITUTION: A means to suspend operation of an ignition system 8 in response to movement of a shift lever 30 from a drive position to a neutral position is arranged at a shift lever 30 and coupled to an ignition system 8. Namely, a normally-closed switch 70 having a moving contact 72 is arranged at a shift lever 30 and coupled to a transmission 5, remotely arranged at an outboard motor 13, through a pair of wires 74. This constitution cuts off ignition of an engine in response to displacement from the drive state of the transmission to a neutral state. |
