BENT WAVEGUIDE FOR MICROWAVE

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and improve the working accuracy by positioning the joined surface between a couple of plastic blocks in the center of the magnetic field surface of a waveguide formed of two grooves. CONSTITUTION:The grooves 2 are formed in the couple of plastic blocks 1 to such size that the joined surface 6 formed when the couple of plastic blocks 1 are combined is in the center of the magnetic field surface of the waveguide 9 formed of the two grooves 2. There is no current flowing across the magnetic field surface 7 (lengthwise surface of waveguide) of the waveguide 9 in the center of the magnetic field surface 7, so electric conduction at the time of the joining need not be considered by designing the dimension of the grooves 2 so that the joined surface 6 is in the center of the magnetic field surface 7. For the purpose, the position of the joined surface 6 is preferably within a range of at least + or -5% from the center of the long side of the section of the waveguide 9.
