PURPOSE:To obtain a packaging material for metallic products causing no clouding to the metallic material to be packaged and excellent in rust-preventing effect by incorporating specific metal oxide in a sol state to a rust-preventing packaging material for metallic products having specular gloss. CONSTITUTION:As a packaging material for various metallic products, alloy products, plated products, etc., having surfaces with specular gloss, a packaging material prepared by impregnating, e.g. kraft paper for package with the amine salt of nitrous acid or carboxylic acid, metallic salt, triazole kind, etc., as rust- preventing agents and further incorporating 0.01-10wt.% of metal oxide in a sol state, such as alumina sol, zirconia sol, and silica sol, to the above rust- preventing agents is used. At this time, an adhesive, such as casein, soybean protein, and oxidized starch, is further added to the above rust-preventing agents, by which the adhesive strength of the rust-preventing agents to the kraft paper, etc., as packaging material can be strengthened. By this method, superior rust-preventive materials causing no clouding to the specular gloss of metals can be obtained. |
