<p>A portable crash-survivable kinetic energy storage machine (40) comprises a freely rotating flywheel (29) formed of composite material, evacuated interior bulkhead (18-20) and an outer bulkhead enclosing the flywheel (29), superconductive induction loops (17) attached to the inner surfaces of the flywheel (28) and providing levitation of the flywheel (29), resonant superconductive electromagnet (1-8) attached to the interior bulkhead (18-20) for providing levitation of the flywheel (29), electronic for controlling levitation of the flywheel (29), light weight motor-generator (26) being further composed of a stationary superconductive field coil (32) mounted within the interior bulkhead (18-20), and a layer of crushable thermal insulation (25) located between the interior bulkhead (18-20) and outer bulkhead for enclosing the portable crash-survivable kinetic energy storage machine.</p> |
