Baking and roasting oven combining microwave and electric cooking - has vent opening incorporating extractor fan and selectively-opened auxiliary vent opening

The electric cooking oven uses resistance heating elements (3,3') and a HF generator used respectively for conventional and microwave cooking, the vent opening (8) incorporated in the oven wall coupled to a catalytic afterburner and incorporating an extractor fan (9) operated only when the oven is operated in microwave cooking mode. A second vent opening (10) in the oven wall is normally blocked by a closure flap (11) and is opened via an electric switch device (23) upon switching in of the extractor fan. Pref. the circulation fan (6), associated with the resistance heating elements (3') at the rear of the oven space, is also switched into operation during the microwave cooking mode. ADVANTAGE - Prevents humidity within cooking space when cooking large quantities.
