The proposed method and device for its implementation are intended for dressing a grinding wheel made of a hard-to-work material, like a hard alloy, constructional or instrument ceramics, and consist in moving the lapping tool (5) mounted on a rod (12) in the direction of the working surface of the grinding wheel only within the contact range between the lapping tool (5) and the grinding wheel, the movement being effected continuously at a constant speed of 5-15 microns/sec achieved by means of a mechanism including a rotatable shaft (19) provided at its ends (18 and 20) with threads (18 and 21) running in the opposite direction engaging with a nut (17) and with the rod (12), and further including two controllable clutches (23 and 26) actuated, each by its own drive, the first clutch (23) connecting the shaft (19) with the rod (12) and the second one (26) connecting the shaft (19) with the nut (17) rigidly mounted in a casing (9). |
