PURPOSE:To make a trigger break at a specified address of a program by executing a monitor program which has a circuit for replacing an instruction code that a processor reads in at the specific address and a control mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An instruction replacing circuit 2 makes the microprocessor 1 read in a break point instruction. When a break instruction on the cache memory in the processor 1 is executed and an acknowledge cycle is generated, a front end monitor 3 makes a jump to the head address of the monitor program and cache operation is turned off at the same time. Thus, the monitor program is executed to make a trigger break function executable. A return to a target program is made possible after the program end of the monitor 3 and the cache operation is turned at the same time. Therefore, the trigger break is securely caused at the specified address of the program. |
