PURPOSE:To prevent a roll damage by providing upper and lower back-up rolls bestowed with the curve becoming the diameter deviation distribution whose positive and negative are reverse to the diameter deviation distribution in the barrel direction of a work roll with its center off-centered in the barrel direction. CONSTITUTION:When a CVC crown is given to a back-up roll 1 so as to eliminate the gap between a work roll 3 and the back-up roll 1, a Hertz's pressure become extremely large at the barrel end part, but a Hertz's pressure distribution is equalized when it is shifted in the axial direction and off-centered in the same direction as the shifting direction where a plate crown becomes larger. The roll damage can be prevented and the plate crown control capacity can be improved drastically at a low cost. |
