<p>2,4-pentanedionemonosulfonic acid is prepared by reacting chlorosulfonic acid with 2,4-pentanedione, preferably in the presence of an anhydrous solvent. The method of this invention generally yields 2,4-pentanedionemonosulfonic acid in excess of about 75 percent. The novel pentanedionesulfonic acid, 2,4-pentanedionemonosulfonic acid (acetylacetone sulfonic acid) is disclosed.</p> |
