<p>An assembly for relieving shear stress when lindirectly mounting a glass tube (18) to a metallic header (14) containing a pressure to be measured. A bore (28) within the header includes first (30) and second (36) shoulders and first (32) and second (38) radially outwardly extending surfaces. An iron-nickel interface (26) having an axially extending portion (48) and a radially outwardly extending portion (42) is secured to the header by welding only at the juncture of the inside radius (r5) of the axially extending portion (48) with the first shoulder (30), leaving the interface free to expand nearly stress free along the radially outwardly extending surfaces within the bore.</p> |
