PURPOSE:To eliminate DC/DC converter and to obtain a light and inexpensive driver for electric automobile by generating DC voltage, for charging an auxiliary battery, through a magnetic field produced in the primary coil of a motor. CONSTITUTION:AC currents IU, IV, IW are fed to the primary coils 30U, 30V, 30W of a motor 16 to produce an AC magnetic field, and AC voltage is induced in secondary coils 52U, 52V, 52W. Thus induced voltage is rectified at a rectifying section 54 and fed to a constant voltage circuit 56 which produces a constant voltage for charging an auxiliary battery 22. When a cage rotor 32 is employed, AC current is not induced in the secondary coil 52 but when a permanent magnet type rotor 32 is employed, AC current is induced in the primary and secondary coils 32, 52 through interlinkage of magnetic field of the permanent magnet type rotor and regenerative brake operation takes place. |
