In a method of producing a body of surface-coated panels of derived timber product by folding over coated panel strips, a trough-shaped groove (14) being made which extends up to the inside of the coating and the deepest point of which forms a plane (16), the width of which corresponds to at least the thickness of the coating (15), to which a solvent-based adhesive (19) is applied which holds the panel strips together in parallel before and during the folding-over, a further V-shaped groove (17) on one side is made on the outside of the coating (15). The point (corner) of the V-shaped groove (17) is directed towards a side of the trough-shaped groove (14) and forms a predetermined breaking point, the projecting part (x) of which can be reworked after the folding-over. <IMAGE>
