摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To realize an active matrix display of a high display lightness by providing a sample-hold circuit constituted of a thin-film transistor and signal accumulation capacitor in each of respective picture elements and providing a driving system by which a DC component is not impressed in a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:This device has electrode lines disposed in the form of an X-Y matrix, the many 1st three-terminal elements TFT1, the sources of which are connected to the electrode lines X and the gates to the electrode lines Y, respectively, and a liquid crystal display part which makes matrix display operation in accordance with the drain outputs thereof. The device is so constituted that the AC voltages of the phases reverse from each other can be impressed to the counter electrode (b) and the common line F by connecting picture element electrodes (a) to the common line F via the respective 2nd three-terminal elements TFT2, connecting the drains of the 1st three-terminal elements TFT1 to an earth line via signal accumulation capacitors C1 and connecting the same to the gates of the 2nd three-terminal elements TFT2.
