An orthogonal coaxial-line-to-microstripline transition is described. The transition employs capacitively loaded throughline transmission line (126B, 144B) to interface between the coaxial line (126A, 144) and the microstripline (106-110). Because the field configuration of the throughline (126B, 144B) shows similarities to both the coaxial line (126A, 144) and the microstripline configurations (106-110), a well matched transition between coaxial line (126A, 144) onto microstripline (106-110) is achieved. The center conductor of the throughline (126B, 144B) can be bent at right angles with no mismatch. Dielectrically loading (128) the throughline (126B, 144B) prevents higher order loads from radiating out of the through (130).
|
