发明名称 GRADATION INDICATION METHOD FOR EL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the gradation display of high reliability by applying the constitution wherein a thin film FL element is applied with pulse voltage approximately in the saturation range of generated brightness and pulse voltage characteristics via the change of the leading edge of the voltage waveform for the gradation display. CONSTITUTION:An FL panel is so fabricated as to comprise the sequential lamination of a transparent electrode 2 made of a stripe processed ITO film, a lower insulation layer 3 made of the lamination of a SiO2 film and an Si3N4 film, an upper insulation layer 5 made of a luminous layer 41 and a Zn:Tb, F film and a rear electrode made of a stripe-processed an Al film, respectively on a glass substrate 1. In this case, when the wave forms of data side voltage applied to the electrode 2 are selectively A0, A1 and so forth, the highest level thereof is within the saturation range of a luminous brightness L and pulse voltage characteristics, and it becomes possible to obtain a high luminous degree with the sharp waveform A1 responding to the gradual leading edge waveform A0. According to this construction, the control of luminous brightness or gradation display becomes possible, depending upon the rise of the leading edge of the voltage waveform.
