The roadway covering system consists of curved corrugated steel sheeting elements (3) which will not exceed 2.5 metres in width for ease of mfr. and subsequent transportation to site. The sheets have a thickness of 3 millimetres and the edges are pre-drilled for the insertion of screws or plug and socket type fixing so that the units are secured. The fixed units will form an arch or tunnel section. The pitch of the corrugations is 100 mm. The sheets will be handled into position with a crane and provision is made for the use of a ventilator shaft (4) for the removal of vehicle exhaust fumes on completion of fixing the steel sections an earth covering is laid over the top of the tunnel section and suitable land scaping is carried out with the planting of shrubs and grass thereby improving the environment.
