When a corresp. difference of the dynamic pressure values taken from two different points on the aircraft indicates failure to attain a min. flight speed, an optical and/or acoustic alarm signal is released. Two tubes of i.d. 4 to 5mm are laminated in holes and bonded to the skin of the aircraft. The lower hole (2) lies at a tangent of 47 deg. plus or minus 2 deg. w.r.t. the upper hole (1) at a sufficient distance from the propeller air stream. The instrument (3), powered by a 12 volt supply, is mounted on the control panel or other obvious position in the cockpit. The instrument has a buzzer, a siren or LED. Two hoses connect the tubes to the instrument. ADVANTAGE - Favourable cost, easy to mount, works without inferference; suitable for all types of aircraft; can be retrofitted. Functions under all flying conditions, weather and at all heights.
