Wagon rope haulage system - uses single flange rollers on spring-loaded levers

The floor rail haulage system has a rope which runs between the rails between flanged rollers carried on parallel journals. The flanges are alternately on the right and left of the traction rope on the free ends of a roller lever which pivots centrally round a vertical axis against a spring so the rollers free the rope to admit the rope arm. The journals (11,12) should be horizontal and extend opposite ways from the free ends of the S-shaped roller lever (5) legs (9,10). The rollers (13,13) bear down on the rope (8) with their periphery and also have a base part (15) which issues towards the free end (16m17) of the journals. The rollers are fitted with flanges (20,21) towards the journal (11,12) clamping point (18,19). USE/ADVANTAGE - Underground mining, rope haulage. Rollers bearing down on rope prevent rope escape in floor depressions and use flanges to keep rope on line.
