PURPOSE:To provide satisfactory anti-offsetting power, to lower the minimum fixing temp., and to improve the flowability and noncoagulability by using a polymer having a specified ratio of the weight average mol.wt. to the number average mol.wt. obtd. in the presence of specified wax. CONSTITUTION:Wax made of a polymer prepd. by block- or graft-copolymerizing an aromatic vinyl monomer with polyolefin, that is, polyolefin modified with the vinyl monomer is mixed with a polymerizable monomer and other toner components such as a colorant, or they are dissolved or dispersed in a common solvent to prepare a polymerizable composition. The polymerizable monomer is then polymerized in the presence of the wax to obtain a polymer having >=3.5 ratio of the weight average mol.wt. to the number average mol.wt. Thus, a toner having superior fixability at low temp., superior anti-offsetting power, high flowability and noncoagulability is manufactured. The toner can be rapidly fixed at low temp., and a superior visible image having high image density can be stably formed. |
