PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time by converting the distance of a booklet medium set at an open state from one end of the booklet medium set at a state where a prescribed position is closed from the length and the thickness of the booklet medium set at the closed state. CONSTITUTION:The medium length of the booklet medium 10 set at the open state is calculated with certain equation decided in advance from medium length measuring means 11, 12, and 20 which measure the length of the booklet medium 10 set at the closed state on a carrier path 6, a medium thickness measuring means 2 which measures the thickness of the booklet medium 10 set at the closed state, and measured medium length and medium thickness, and the positioning of the booklet medium 10 set at the open state is performed by setting the one end of the booklet medium 10 set at the closed state as reference. In such a manner, it is possible to accurately set the position of a pass- book while keeping the passbook closed as it is, and to shorten the processing time. |
