PURPOSE:To obtain a moth-proofing agent for textile, quickly developing high moth-proofing effect, emitting weak odor and free from the transfer of odor to clothes by using empenthrin and cyclohexanone oxime containing an anti- mildew agent such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid lower ester as essential components. CONSTITUTION:The objective moth proofing agent for textile contains empenthrin and cyclohexanone oxime at a weight ratio of 1:(10-30). It is used, for example, in the following manner. A piece of filter paper 3 impregnated with empenthrin which is liquid at normal temperature and cyclohexanone oxime granules 4 packed with a gas-permeable packaging material 5 are placed in a plastic container 1 having an observation window 6 and through-holes 2 for releasing the evaporated gas and sublimed gas from the container. The presence of the cyclohexanone oxime is inspected through the window 6 and when the compound is absent, the moth-proofing agent is renewed. The moth- proofing agent can be imparted with mildew-proofing and bacteriostatic property by compounding a p-hydroxybenzoic acid ester to cyclohexanone oxime. |
