The backrest consists of a metal frame (2) and a cushion (3) of fibre composite material or foam. A plane spring element (1) is integrated into the cushion overlay, and brackets (4) extend from the spring through the overlay to chip onto a cross-tube (5) of the frame at the height of the pivoting axis of the backrest. The top part of the cushion is shaped to fit over the rim of the frame. USE/ADVANTAGE - Spring backrest of vehicle seat is mfd. using few parts and allows simple assembly.
