Insect screen for fixing in a window frame 1 or the like and which has essentially one elastic net 2 cut or shaped to the measurement of the inside dimensions of the frame, and a fixing device enclosing its edge for fixing the insect screen in a window frame 1. The fixing device comprises an adhesive or gripping layer 6, which is located on the edge area 3 intended for fixing the net 2 in the window frame 1, on the first surface 4 of the net 2, and a detachable layer 7, which is located on the second surface 5 of the net 2 remote from the window frame 1, and which detachable layer 7 is arranged to cover the second surface 5 of the net at least on the adhesive or gripping surface 6, the insect screen being formed into a roll package 10, in which the adhesive or gripping layer 6 of the net 2, joined to the first surface 4, is connected to the detachable layer 7 of the net 2, which is joined to the second surface 5. The insect screen is easy to fit by relieving the load on the roll package 10 when fitting. Fitting the insect screen requires only one operation. <IMAGE>
