The filter has a gas ioniser, tow which is coupled in the room air flow direction a tubular, electrostatic separator, formed of conventric, mutually insulated tubular flow ducts, between which lies a HV field fed by a voltage source. The separator flow ducts are in the form of electrically conductive hoses. On the lengths of the hoses are distributed insulators for their mutual spacing. Pref. the hoses are mutually slidably mounted. They are typically ribbed, flexible, metal hoses, with the ribbed surfaces forming the separating faces. The separator may be formed by at least three concentric metal hoses, the external one earthed. ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly, and applicable to existing systems.
