An improved method for the production of 4-bromo-3-alkylanisole, particularly 4-bromo-3-methylanisole is described. The method involves establishing 3-alkylanisole as a vapor in a reaction zone of a reactor, and establishing bromine as a vapor. Thereafter the bromine vapor is introduced to the reaction zone of the reactor and commingled with the established 3-alkylanisole vapor. Dibrominated impurity is substantially reduced. 6405 Page |
