PURPOSE:To stabilize image quality for a long time by allowing an electrostatic charging quantity control means to control charging quantity when image forming frequency exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:An operation panel 100 and a counter for counting up image forming frequency are connected to a CPU 201 and the CPU 201 recognizes a copying condition set up by an operator based upon the input results of respective key switches on the operation panel 100 and decides the time for controlling the charging quantity in accordance with the input result of the counter 203. Namely, the means for allowing the charging quantity control means to control the charging quantity when the count value of the counter 203 exceeds the prescribed value is prepared. Even when the surface potential of a photosensitive body is changed in the image forming frequency less than a fixed value, the charging quantity is not corrected by a charging charger, so that the generation of excess charge or the like due to the conventional correction of charging quantity for other causes can be prevented. |
