PURPOSE:To obtain a brine composition suitable for refrigerator and cooler, preventing an offensive smell resulting from decomposable organic substance, corrosion and rust by blending an aqueous solution of propylene glycol with isothiazoline-based compound (mixture) and a corrosion-resisting agent. CONSTITUTION:2-20wt.% (preferably 5-15wt.%) aqueous solution of propylene glycol is blended with (A) (i) an isothiazoline-based compound such as 2-methyl-4- isothiazolin-3-one or (ii) a mixture of the component (i) and a bromine compound such as 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol and (B) a corrosion-resisting agent such as borate, nitrite, nitrate, benzoate, phosphate or benzotriazole to give the objective composition having pH7.0-11.0. |
