PURPOSE:To obtain an image with high contrast by arranging a liquid crystal panel so as to be inclined from the direction rectangular to the optical axis by a prescribed angle and arranging a pair of polarizing plates on the front and rear positions of the liquid crystal panel rectangularly to the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal panel 1, a liquid crystal panel fixing plate 2 and a fixing plate 3 to be fixed to a device main body are fixed so as to be inclined from the direction rectangular to the optical axis X by about 6 deg.. A condenser lens 7 to which the incident side polarizing plate 4 is stuck is fitted by spacers 8, 9 so as to be positioned rectangularly to the optical axis X and inclined from the liquid crystal panel fixing plate 3 by 6 deg.. Since the projection side polarizing plate 5 fixed through an angular spacer 10 inclined from the panel 1 by 6 deg., the plate 5 is arranged rectangularly to the optical axis X. Since the liquid crystal panel is inclined from the optical axis X based upon priority angle of visibility, the optimum contrast can be obtained. Since the incident side and projection side polarizing plates are arranged rectangularly to the optical axis X, they are effectively driven as polarizing plates. |
