PURPOSE:To repeatedly utilize a polyaniline film, a polypyrrole film or the films of derivatives thereof by immersing these films formed on an electrode in an acidic soln. before utilization or after utilization and regenerating pH sensitivity of the polyaniline film, the polypyrrole film or the films of derivatives thereof. CONSTITUTION:A polyaniline film 3 is formed e.g. by an electric field polymerizing method on an electrode 2 formed on an insulated base plate 1. Rubbing treatment is performed for the polyaniline film 3 by an acidic soln. and thereafter this polyaniline film 3 is utilized. A reference electrode 4 is arranged oppositely to the base plate 1 having the polyaniline film 3 wherein rubbing treatment is performed and thereafter drying treatment is performed while holding the constant interval. The pH and concn. of a testing soln. 6 are measured by immersing both the base plate 1 incorporating the electrode 2 and the polyaniline film 3 and the electrode 4 in the testing soln. 6 in a vessel 5. A polypyrrole film or the film of the derivatives thereof can be utilized instead of the polyaniline film 3. In the case of utilization in such a way, the polyaniline film, the polypyrrole film or the film of the derivatives thereof repeatedly are utilized by immersing these films in the acidic soln. and regenerating pH sensitivity of these films. |
