PURPOSE: To unnecessitate the arrangement of a special means for measuring an electric current strength by supplying an AC current to a driving power source machine to be commonly used for AC and DC, deciding the speed of a motor-driven machine by means of a command for phase control through the use of a processor and deciding the inertia moment of washings based on a phase angle by means of the processor. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 13 is programmed to set the phase angle θto a prescribed value during mutually continuous periods 20 and 21 which respectively have continuing times t1 and t2 . The value of the phase angle θis equal to θ1 in the first period 20 with the continuing time t1 . The phase angle θ is provided with another prescribed value θ2 in the second period 21 with the continuing time t2 . The rotary speed ω of a drum is measured by a rotation meter power generating machine or a revolution counter 15 is accordance with the respective values of the phase angle θ.
