A preliminary polymerized substance having an intrinsic viscosity range of 1.0-4.0 is made by dissolving aromatic diamine and aromatic diacid chloride into the mixed solvent which comprises amide derived solvent and inorganic salts. The substance is wet spun into the polymerization accelerating solvent bath with the spinning velocity of 1.5-4.0 m/ses under the viscosity of 700- 1200 poise. The spun polymer is drawn in the polymerization-promoting solvent. This extruded fiber is heat-treated for 2-10sec., while receiving 2-8g/d tension at 300-600 deg. C, as it maintains then moisture content of 10-30 wt.%. the fibrous aromatic polyamide retains the cut strength above 20g/d, initial modulus above 1000g/d.
