<p>PURPOSE: To selectively achieve transmission of inverted torque, and to reduce required space in an axial direction by using a single friction torque transmission device, a control valve, and a direction-sensitive fluid interface or valve. CONSTITUTION: A second fluid passage 76 communicated with an actuation chamber 40 and fluid-communicated with a discharge means 78, first valve means 34, 64, 74 connected to one of an input member and output members 16, 18, and a control valve communicated with a first and the second fluid passages 62, 76 are provided. The first valve means can detect a torque transmission direction, the first fluid passage 62 is communicated with the actuation chamber during a first torque transmission direction, and the second fluid passage 76 is communicated with the actuation chamber 40 during a second torque transmission direction opposite to the first torque transmission direction. This control valve 50 is composed to reduce pressure in the actuation chamber 40 in response to fluid pressure in it.</p> |
