PURPOSE: To operate a catheter device effectively via a winding narrow passage and follow a narrow passage of a guidewire within a patient body by providing in a catheter tube with a terminal aperture formed by a rim which is cut aslant CONSTITUTION: An abducent balloon catheter includes a flexible, tubular and slender catheter main body or a shaft which has a size to be inserted into a patient body, for example a vascular system, and also which is adaptable for such an application. The catheter is constituted to include a rim 56 which forms a terminal aperture of the catheter main bodies 10, 110 cut aslant. The rim 56 cut aslant provides increased flexibility in the terminal ends of the catheter main bodies compared to the main parts of the catheter main bodies 10, 110. Terminal ends 59, 79 of the catheter main bodies are preferably radiation- impermeable, that is, they have substantial radiation-impermeability. Thereby, owing to a suitable arrangement within a patient body, the ends can be visualized by using any conventional roentogenoscopy technique. |
