PURPOSE: To attain fault diagnosis with high cost efficiency by dividing a system or a device into serial or parallel groups, and classifying test costs for each element of each small system. CONSTITUTION: A system to be diagnosed is divided into serial or parallel small sections or the groups of small sections. First, this system is divided into the serially classified serial main parts, and each main part having the elements of parallel connection is divided into classified, if possible, main serial and parallel small sections. Then, this process is repeated until each section is divided into the serial strings as much as possible. Then, as the rule of the second level, an efficient test rule is prepared for each pure small section obtained from this dividing process. Thus, the quick failure diagnosing system with high cost efficiency can be attained. |
