PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having wide exposure latitude and ensuring ultrahigh contrast by incorporating specified compds. into a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compd. represented by formula I and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II are incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer. In the formula I, X is H or a group convertible into H by hydrolysis, Time is a divalent combining group, t is 0 or 1, PUG is a development inhibitor, V is carbonyl, sulfonyl, etc., and R is H, an aliphat. or arom. group, etc. In the formula II, R1 is an aliphat. or arom. group, R2 is H, alkyl, aryl, etc., G1 is carbonyl, sulfonyl, etc., and each of A1 and A2 is H or one of them is H and the other is alkylsulfonyl or arylsulfonyl. Exposure latitude is extended at the time of photographing a line image and ultrahigh contrast is obtd.
