摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device having high brightness and less crosstalks by providing insulating means between the varisters on a 1st substrate and the electrodes on a 2nd substrate. CONSTITUTION:Picture element electrodes 14 and signal lines 13 are parted from each other and are disposed on the 1st substrate. These electrodes and liens are electrically coupled by the varisters 12. The spacings are 10 to 400Xm. The surfaces of the varister films are coated with the insulating films 13. The insulating films 13 are formed of org. materials, such as polyimide and inorg. materials, such as SiO2, by various methods according to the materials to be used. The varisters are formed by using paste essentially consisting of varister powder and printing this powder to form the varister elements having uniform characteristics at one time in a wide area. The grain size of the powder is specified to 2 to 50mum spherical shape to maintain nearly the specified threshold voltage of the varisters. The scanning electrodes 22 are disposed to face the picture element electrodes 14 on the 2nd substrate (glass, etc.) 21 and the liquid crystal 31 is crimped between the substrates by specifying the layer thickness thereof to 5 to 50mum. The flow of currents from signal lines to the scanning electrodes via the varisters is obviated according to this constitution. The display having the high brightness and high contrast is thus obtd.</p>
