PURPOSE:To obtain the title inhibiting agent consisting of specific flavonoids contained in the crude drugs Mori cortex, Glycyrrhizae Radix and Epimedium grandiflorum and useful in treatment of complication of Diabetes mellitus such as cataract or retinopathy. CONSTITUTION:The aimed inhibiting agent containing a compound expressed by formula I [R1 is H or (di)hydroxyphenyl; R2 is 3-methyl-2-butenyl, methoxyphenyl, methoxyhydroxyphenyl or rhamnopyranosiloxyl; R3 is H or 3-methyl-2-butenyl; R4 is R3, formula II (X is R3), formula III (R5 is 3-methyl-2- butenyl or 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl), formula IV [R6 is formula V to formula VII (R7 is R3)], formula VIII or formula IX as an active ingredient. |
