PURPOSE:To obtain a hollow composite body having excellent interfacial adhesive properties with superior productivity by using a hollow body formed of an olefinic polymer and/or a hydrocarbon thermoplastic elastomer as an internal layer and forming an external layer composed of a polymer obtained by ring-opening polymerization of a norbornene monomer of a tricyclic body or more onto an outer circumferential surface while being unified with the internal layer. CONSTITUTION:In a hollow composite body, a hollow body formed of an olefin group polymer and/or a hydrocarbon group thermoplastic elastomer is employed as an internal layer, and an external layer made up of the ring-opening polymer of a norbornene group monomer of a tricyclic body or more is shaped onto the outer circumferential surface of the hollow body while being unified with the internal layer. Since a obtained by ring-opening polymerization of a norbornene monomer of the tricyclic body or more is used as the external layer in the hollow composite body, mechanical strength and heat resistance are improved, and the water absorption properties of the ring-opening polymer are reduced, thus enhancing dimensional stability and extremely lightening weight thereof even in plastics as the specific gravity of approximately 1.1 or less of the ring-opening polymer, then acquiring the light- weight hollow composite body. A reaction injection molding method employing a reaction liquid having low viscosity is adopted, thus easily manufacturing the complicate-shaped large- sized hollow composite body. |
