PURPOSE:To easily attain color recording after monochroic color recording by storing an inputted color picture data to a storage means as it is when the recording is implemented in color or in a monochroic color. CONSTITUTION:When a command instructing the recording in the layout confirming mode is issued, a color picture data stored in a picture data memory 18 is converted into a monochroic picture data by a color/monochroic converter 40 and fed to a color/monochroic recorder 38. When a picture 44 as shown in figure composed of partly a colored part 46 and a remaining monochroic part 48 exists, the picture data of the colored part 46 is converted into the monochroic picture data and the recorder 38 is operated based on the monochroic picture data resulting from the conversion of the picture data representing the colored part 46 into the monochroic picture data and on the monochroic picture data representing the monochroic part 48 and the entire picture 44 is recorded in a monochroic color. When layout is proper and no correction is required and the operator instructs the recording of the color picture, the color picture is recorded based on the color picture data stored in the memory 18. |
