PURPOSE:To reduce electric resistance, to eliminate the edge effect of a solid black part and to prevent the stain of a ground part by using fine cerium oxide powder surface-coated with a tin oxide-antimony mixture as an external additive. CONSTITUTION:Fine cerium oxide powder surface-coated with a tin oxide- antimony mixture is added to toner particles contg. a resin binder, a colorant, an electrification controlling agent and wax as a releasing agent to obtain a toner. The mixing ratio between the tin oxide and antimony is regulated to (100:3)-(100:20), preferably (100:5)-(100:15). The average particle size of the external additive is regulated to <=1mum, preferably 0.01-0.07mum. Since the external additive contains nuclei of cerium oxide having polishing action, the surface of a photosensitive body can be polished and the filming phenomenon of the photosensitive body due to the toner can be prevented. |
