Device for earthing a shielded (screened) electrical cable which includes at least one electrical conductor mounted inside a jacket formed by a metal shielding (screening) braid, itself surrounded by an outer protective sheath made of plastic or the like. According to the invention, this device is characterised in that it includes two half-shells (2, 3) made of insulating material, which are applied against each other and delimit between them an internal cylindrical passage into which is engaged a portion of the cable (18), the diameter of which is substantially equal to that of the passage and in which portion the shielding braid (24) is stripped of the protective sheath (25), each half-shell including, in its outer surface, an open housing (7) for the winding of a tie (8), wound over each half-shell, presenting, at each winding turn, a strand (10) extending transversely in the internal passage, the tie being made from a metallic material which is sufficiently flexible so that, during the application of the half-shells to the shielding braid of the cable, the latter is engaged in the internal passage between these half-shells, thereby pushing back against the bottom of this passage the strands of the successive windings of the tie which are fitted snugly into the braid with a pressure suitable for establishing a satisfactory electrical contact with the latter, the ends of the braid being connected up to the earth outside the half-shells. <IMAGE>
