PURPOSE:To increase the start-up heating capacity and improve the reliability of a compressor by a method wherein the compressor is cooled while high temperature heat discharged from the compressor is stored in a heat accumulator, and the heat stored in the heat accumulator is given to the compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger during the start-up operation of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:A heat accumulator 6 is of a capsule type and latent heat accumulating medium is enclosed in capsules. A reversible fan 5 is installed between a compressor 1 and the heat accumulator 6, and the fan 5 sends air from the compressor 1 to the heat accumulator 6 when the compressor 1 is at a high temperature. The compressor 1 is cooled from the surface by a forced convection current so that the reliability of coil windings and bearings in the compressor 1 is improved. On the other hand, the heated air is led into the heat accumulator 6 and the heat is absorbed by heat accumulating medium. When the heating capacity of an air conditioner is in short in the early morning, the fan 5 is reversed to send air from the heat accumulator 6 to the compressor 1. The heat contained in the heat accumulating medium in the heat accumulator 6 is transferred to the compressor 1 with the air and the temperature of the refrigerant flowing inside the compressor 1 is raised so that the temperature of a room heat exchanger is also raised and the heating capacity is increased. |
