The invention relates to a lighting apparatus for a fluorescent tube in the shape of a bar. In this lighting apparatus including a fluorescent tube (1) and a casing, the latter has the shape of a hollow parallelepipedal rail (13) including a base wall and a wall forming a cover and two side walls (17) which are open at the front faces (41) and accommodate parts forming sockets, the rail (13) being formed by two halves and surrounded by a support profile in the shape of a channel (gutter) (2). Application especially to highly compact fluorescent tube lighting apparatuses which are very convenient to mount and maintain.
