The appliance comprises a frame (1) supporting a vessel and containing a motor (3) for driving food processing tools (33) inside the vessel. In order to both weigh the food and process it with the tools without the food being handled and transferred, the appliance comprises a base (2), means, such as a bar strain gauge (6), mechanically connecting the frame to the base in order to weigh the frame (1) and means (5, 53) for processing the weight signals sent by the weighing means in order to display the weight of the food placed in the vessel (4). When the motor (3) is turned on, the processing means (5, 53) cancel or freeze the display for as long as the motor is active and cause the frame to be locked to the base. <IMAGE>
