PURPOSE:To effectively polish the metal plate to be polished in various sizes without troubling the hand of a worker by providing a perforated endless belt which transfers the metal plate to be polished with its placing on the surface. CONSTITUTION:When a metal plate 15 to be polished reaches between a surface plate and polishing material 5, a groove 3d provided on the upper face of a vacuum box 3 and a projecting bar 1b for preventing meandering is checked. A through hole 3a of the vacuum box 3 and that 1a of the perforated endless belt 1 are therefore communicated and the metal plate 15 to be polished becomes in the state of its being sucked and held on the perforated endless belt 1. Then, the polishing material 5 is made abutted on the surface of the metal plate 15 to be polished and the polishing is performed while feeding an abrasive liquid from an abrasive liquid feeding device 10.
