PURPOSE:To continuously perform laser beam cladding of high quality for a long time by intercepting an area to be irradiated with a laser beam from the air by using gas shielding and suppressing the generation of plasma by using an injected gas jet. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing laser beam cladding, in order to shield spatters and metallic vapor generated from the vicinity of a melting part, inert gas is supplied by a cladding powder feeder 7. Further, the inert gas is injected from an inert gas feeder 9 from the cross direction of the focus position and the metallic vapor which is not shielded is eliminated from a laser beam transmission area. The generation of plasma can be suppressed surely by these two gas supply means. |
