<p>A magnetic recording medium consisting of a stretched film of a styrene polymer having a highly syndiotactic structure or a composition thereof, or of a laminated film including said stretched film, and wherein a magnetic layer is applied to at least one surface of the base film that has a coefficient of linear expansion of smaller than 5 x 10<-5>/ DEG C and a static frictional coefficient of greater than 0.3 but smaller than 1.0. The magnetic recording medium exhibits good slipping property, smoothness, heat resistance and humidity resistance, as well as excellent dimensional stability against the temperature and humidity, and exhibits good coerciveness and high density.</p> |
